Some days not being in the upper echelon in the division that he was in was a real drag for Haru. Hell he could hold his own against most everyone in the division, and frankly he deserved a little more respect, or at least more time to do what the hell he wanted. But nooo he gets the shit jobs, a new guy joins up and who gets called. Good old lazy Haru to show the guy around the base. From what he was told the person joining up was a new recruit with some really good potential, but relatively untested so Haru was to acquaint him with headquarters and then show him the ropes in the training room to see how he actually fights.

Welp that pretty much was that, so grudgingly the silver haired swordsman take the elevator to the lobby to meet with the new recruit, a man by the name of Elliot... And frankly, there was little that would probably prepare him for who he was about to meet.

Elliott stood in front of the supposed Committee Building. It was like any other skyscraper in Manhattan on the surface, but Elliott was well aware that it went much deeper than it appeared--literally. He'd opted not to go in unprepared and dug up a fair bit of information on the organization beforehand, as he liked to do with prospective employers. Because of that, he knew that he was being employed for more than just his hacking talents this time, and that thought excited him. He grinned. His tenure here would be fun.

He entered the building through the sliding glass doors and took in the sights. Strongly resembling a corporate office, Elliott was let down by the ordinariness of the place. Tables and chairs were scattered around in little groups toward the edges of the atrium, and there was a security desk in the center (he laughed internally at the audacity). It was certainly better than his shitty little Brooklyn apartment though. As he would be meeting someone here, Elliott took a seat on one of the couches and crossed his leg. With any luck, he'd be shown around by someone he'd appreciate talking to. Or looking at, he supposed.

Haru found the man whose picture was in the small dossier that the silver haired young man was handed before being sent to meet the guy. The red and black hair that the svelte individual before him had was kind of hard to mistake for anyone else, the rest of the man's attire stood out among the suits that most of the normal visitors of the buildings wore, though almost no one paid him any mind, most of these individuals knew of the eccentric attire that some members of this company held, Granted Haru was not really one to talk with his blue shirt, and and black leather coat adorned with silvery crosses. I am guessing you are Elliot, eh? My name is Haru I was told to collect you and show you the ropes so shall we?"

With that introduction Haru would offer out his mildly calloused hand, before leading the new recruit away to the elevators where Haru would put his thumb on a panel opening up a hidden selection of floors on the touch screen display. Hitting the one labeled housing the elevator would start moving. "So anything you want to know?"

So this Haru was the one who'd be taking him around, was he? He certainly wasn't bad on the eyes--his silvery white hair was a unique trait that Elliott found himself appreciating. He stood up, taking Haru's hand and shaking it firmly. "Elliott Hughes. The pleasure's all mine." He smiled disarmingly, and made no effort to hide that his eyes quickly scoped up the guy's body. Trim, fit, and overall powerful. He had quite the grip when he shook hands--they were hardened and callused which implied that his hands did good work. Elliott would have to determine if that work was strictly on the job or not, but he decided to save that homework for later.

As they stepped into the elevator, Elliott quickly looked at different pieces of the room. It was a standard, run of the mill type. The controller looked to be a computer, which was an interesting point of failure. Maybe it would be interesting to use that to figure out where this thing could go, because based on Haru's actions, they were already accessing protected areas.

He snapped back to reality as Haru asked his question. It was very much a welcoming and thoughtful prompt, but Elliott could see that he was being interviewed. "So what exactly do you do here, Haru? I'm interested in your point of view. Do you fight for the Committee? If so, how?"

Shana

"Well I do fight for the Committee, and as for how, I go where I am told and I either kill or capture what I need to there. I have a special set of powers referred to as a Full Bring basically when I activate my powers this pendant around my neck turns into a massive sword that I use to kick the crap out of things. What about you, as you are being rolled into the 'Central Combat Division' So you obviously have some kind of combat skills, what can you do?" Haru said, he was vague about what his sword could do, but he didn't lie about his powers. Haru did not miss Elliot's looks at him and eying the control panel, the dossier had something in it about the young man being some kind of hacker, "Oh and I wouldn't think about trying to hack into the system, well at least not from the outside. The access controls for most of the system can only be adjusted from one or two terminals in the entire base, and the security is enhanced and the security system is enhanced by a few users powers."

While the elevator descended Haru would just lean against one wall so that he could face Elliot head on while he answered the question.

Elliott grinned roguishly. "Oh, now you've got me interested. I like a guy who can handle a massive sword." He put his hands on his hips, listening as Haru spoke. The fact that he had a Fullbring was unsurprising--many Committee members did. At least he was vague enough about his powers, passing that little social engineering test. Elliott wondered if there was any person in the Committee who was more loose lipped.

Haru asked him about his powers. Elliott wasn't terribly concerned about keeping it secret, truth be told. It was a pretty basic ability. "I can modify my body in a bunch of different ways. Go faster, be stronger, enhance certain properties, et cetera." His smirk remained. "Definitely helps when I need to fuck up some somebody's day."

Elliott was pleasantly surprised that they made that connection as Haru mentioned him hacking the system. Normally his personas as a superhuman and a hacker were disjoint, but the fact that the Committee had possibly linked Elliott to Kerberos made him happy. Being in the hands of competent people was better than them being his enemy--he knew that fact very well. That said, he made a point to assuage Haru's concerns--clearly he or the Committee wasn't aware of the scope of his cyber-espionage prowess.

"About that," he said. "While it's cute that you're confident in your security policy, there's no such thing as an airtight system. I'm a bit of a penetration expert. I can get in any fuckin' system you throw at me. Lucky for you though, big guy, I don't think I've been hired to run any security tests on your systems, though I'm sure you've got some weird kinky shit stashed somewhere that I'd love to see." He winked at Haru.

"That is really cool, though I could see it being problematic against some of the enemies we face, most specifically the Arrancar, some of them have steel like skin so yeah." Haru would say, he did like the sound of Elliot's powers, in fact some of his own blades applied similar effects. Though the silver haired swordsman did act oblivious to the comment about his sword ability, because he had a fair idea that it was not talking about in combat. As Elliot continued about his hacking prowess making another obvious pun Haru would shrug. "True given enough time any system can be cracked, maybe when you get a bit more trust around here they will let you take a look at locking it down further."

At that the door would ding open on one of the residential floors designated for the combat personnel, it was this floor that Elliot was assigned to, as well as Haru himself, as he looked down at his file he saw that they were actually rooming across from each other. Well that will make some things easier, seeing as he seems to not mind me too much. Leading the way down a series of Halls he would stop in front of a door, the slot for the label empty, punching a couple of keys a handprint scanner would appear on the panel to the right. "Here is your room, I am across the hall, once you put your palm on there it will be registered to you and you can control the automatic locks with that panel. There are also manual locks the keys for which will be in on your counter."

Assuming that Elliot followed the instructions he would find a rather nice 1 bedroom apartment, with a small dining area and kitchenette complete with a stocked fridge and working stove. The seating/living area had a couch with a tv that was hooked up to a computer system with wireless keyboard and mouse. "You can make requisitions to replace most anything in here if you have preferences in your entertainment systems or kitchen appliances. The walls area also completely soundproofed, so long as your door is closed nothing in here will disturb your neighbors. Just try to keep the damage to a minimum. I will be back in about 10-15 in the mean time scope out your home on base. Then I can bring you to check out the R+D Department, then they wanted me to run you through our normal initiation procedures."

Haru mentioned the Arrancar’s Hierro—something he’d read about—and it was a true concern. However, Elliott was pretty sure that Hierro’s protective effect applied more to cutting and piercing damage than percussive damage. It made sense that Haru would make himself over that, being a swordsman, but Elliott figured he would be able to work around that issue with less difficulty. He chose not to say anything about it, simply nodding instead.

Over the course of the elevator ride, Haru batted away his teasing with the power of a true stony-faced professional, but Elliott was not to be deterred. He followed Haru out of the elevator with his hands in his pockets as his guide took him to where he would be staying. “Biometric scanner, nice.” He commented, noting the Committee’s smart thinking by incorporating biometric security devices.

Adding a requirement of “something one is” to a security policy was in most cases one of the most effective ways to enhance it (although Elliott was uniquely qualified to circumvent basically any biometric scanner, a fact he felt no need to disclose to anyone here unless it came up.) He was, however, quite let down by the presence of manual locks on these doors, but he supposed for a simple residence security would have to give way to convenience for the technologically illiterate. That could certainly bite them in the ass later.

Following Haru’s instruction, and changing his handprint to another configuration he’d memorized, he placed his hand on the scanner. There was no way he’d give this organization his true handprint—at least not now. Up until now they’d never taken his handprint, so there shouldn’t have been a problem with him registering a fake one. When his name popped up on the electric label, confirming that he’d registered the room, the door slid open with no noise whatsoever. Stepping inside, it was similar in size the the apartment he’d been staying in before, although everything was updated and generally higher quality, which he’d appreciated. He’d have to verify the encryption on the wireless keyboard and mouse or away they would go.

He was interested to learn that it was soundproofed. While it made sense for a facility of this standard, he was surprised to learn they’d go that far for residences. He grinned. “You’d better be happy I can’t just walk in here with any fuckin boy I pick up. Some of them would really test that soundproofing.”

Haru wrapped up this little leg of the tour, explaining that he would return in ten to fifteen minutes to pick him up for a trip to R&D. As Haru finished up, he informed Elliott that he’d give him time with the room before returning to continue the orientation.

“Sounds good, stud.” Elliott said. “Come back whenever.”

As Haru would leave, Elliott already thought of a couple things he’d have to bring from his place—his laptop for one.

Haru left Elliot alone while he traveled across the hall to his own room, he would grab himself a water from the fridge and make himself a ham and cheese sandwich, still eating it as he returned to Elliot's room knocking on the door to get the red heads attention. Once Elliot was out of his room Haru would lead the way back to the elevator punching the button to bring them down to the first floor of the R+D Department.

Using the ride to finish his sandwich and down his water he would toss the empty bottle in the trashcan right outside the elevator. Leading the way down the hall they would come to a large desk kind of like what one would find in a DMV segmented, with a window divider between them and the clerks behind it. "This is the requisitions office, you can request any kind of gear here, and if it hasn't been created yet you can pretty much relay what you would like it to do and eventually someone will figure it out." Leading to one of the stalls, where a dumpy balding man sat looking bored "This here is Stan, he will hook you up with whatever you will ever need, well... Lets just say he hasn't let me down yet. And from what i have heard from others there isn't much he can't or won't find for you. So I will leave you to what you need, flag me when you are ready for the next, and probably most fun part of this tour."

With that Haru would leave Elliot in Stan's Capable hands and go stand next to the elevator and wait for Elliot.

Elliott perused his room, quickly making sure everything was in order. Browsing in the stocked fridge, he grabbed an apple and took it with him to the bedroom. There was a nice full size bed with an adjoined bathroom--definitely a treat. That bed actually looked comfortable too. By the time Haru returned, he was poking around in the shower. Elliott jogged back when he heard the knock. He pitched his apple core in the trashcan and opened the door.

Haru seemed awfully terse as he led Elliott down the elevator and to the requisitions office. It was a quick affair, and Elliott put in a quick order for two of those GLOCK-Zeros he pilfered info on before. If he was going to be part of the Committee, it was the least he could do to take advantage of their facilities and arm himself with a ranged option. Elliott wasn't really as interesting in flirting with or teasing this Stan guy, or whatever Haru called him, so it was a quick exchange, and soon Elliott found himself meeting up with Haru again.

"Yo!" Elliott waved. "I'm all done." He patted the two pistols holstered on his hips. "So what's the deal with the fun part? You got me all stoked, man."
