Kaze was the last arrancar of the current wave of attackers to arrive in Tokyo, but not because he was cowardly, on the contrary he had waited to see the weeds culled and the strong to appear to handle the situation. Disappointed that only a handful of strong people were even on the scene to begin with given the gravity of the situation at hand Kaze simply looked around and summoned his skull throne before sitting in it and simply waiting.

This was an actual tactic though, because Kaze was not able to restrain his reiatsu levels, as such his mere presence was going to attract someone's attention and they would inevitably make their own way towards him to give him something to do. All he need do is be patient.

Something he had gotten quite good at. He rested his head on one hand and entertained himself until that moment arrived with thoughts of how best to torment the poor soul that showed itself to him. Oh how he hoped it was a Captain. Depriving that stupid girl of one of her cherished comrades gave rise to Kaze smirking to himself at the thought.

Unlike the arrancar, Shuya was capable of reigning in his Reiatsu levels. Not that it really mattered. To be honest with himself, and sometimes he had to be, he wasn't sure if his full amount could even be felt by this arrancar.

"What the hell is this guy...?" He muttered to himself, hiding behind the side of an adjacent building, barely peeking out. He'd almost been floored when the arrancar emerged from the Garganta, wielding such massive spiritual pressure as it did. Intelligence didn't suggest that hollows or arrancar this powerful would appear -- if it did, they would have sent captains, surely!

He swallowed. While he knew he was outmatched, he also knew that he was no deserter. This thing's spiritual pressure could probably be felt in the United States --surely Soul Society would be sending backup. For now, he would have to keep this guy entertained, lest he flatten the entirety of Tokyo.

He pointed his finger, charging a decent amount of reiryoku and delivering a Hado 4: Byakurai, aimed straight in the middle of the arrancar's torso. Hado 4, while not known for its power, was known for its precision, and the level that he juiced it up to would put a hole in both sides of a tank. This would, hopefully, be a start.

Abilities used:

Hado 4: Byakurai (Cero) 1 post cd

Kaze glanced over as he felt the spiritual energy of a shinigami flare up for a moment, and just as he turned his head to spy the man doing this a bolt of lightning was fired at him. With his reiatsu already flared up first the bolt of lightning had to pierce that and contend with the sheer gap in power between kidou and Kaze. However due to the unknown empowerment Shuya had performed the Kidou was more powerful than Kaze expected it to be, and it did inevitably reach his body, though thoroughly weakened for the effort, and struck him in his torso as intended.

But it did not pierce his body.

Kaze was not the tankiest of people, but he was still a high class arrancar with a hierro and his reiatsu had gotten in the way as well. The problem Shuya would have immediately noticed however was that Kaze's scorch marks, from being hit in the first place, were already healed through his high-speed regeneration. Meaning that while the boy struck Kaze, it ultimately didn't do anything besides get him noticed.

Having already locked eyes on the guy at this rate Kaze analyzed what just happened in his head and frowned while placing his head back on his hand, "Disappointing." Kaze had really hoped a Captain would arrive, or at least someone equal to one, but instead despite a sneak attack landing, he got.. Shuya. With the thought out of the way he started making his chair float over towards Shuya. Why walk if he could just sit after all. This seemed almost slow at first but did get quick all of a sudden, not shunpo fast or anything drastic mind you, but he closed the distance between the two in a couple of seconds if Shuya didn't instinctively retreat backwards.

If, and only if, Kaze got into sword range of Shuya would anything further happen, because Kaze would swipe at the boy with his Zanpaktou with his free hand while staying in his chair and remaining in his bored unamused position on it. Wasn't like Kaze could fire a cero or a bala, and he sure as hell wasn't going to release his true form on a mere whelp. He wasn't even sure he'd need to get out of his chair!

As the arrancar started hovering ominously toward Shuya, he figured the hiding gig was up. For now, it would have to be a fair fight...! Not a good look for him.

"Writhe, Kokuryuu!" Shuya's katana, freshly drawn, disintegrated into amorphous black sand, swirling around him. As the arrancar approached and swiped at him with his sword, Shuya blocked the sword with a katana that manifested from the black sand into his hands, and immediately he felt the weight of his casual one-handed swing.

The remaining floating black sand formed into three more identical katanas and shot towards the arrancar, intending to skewer him in his chest, abdomen, and neck.

His chest and stomach got pierce by some swords, but the blow intended for his neck was parried. While he could have just regenerated the damage to his neck it would have left him with literally nothing to do had he chosen that path. He reassessed the shinigami, ever so slightly, determining he must at least be the step down from a captain. He may not be a threat to Kaze, but he would at least be a nuisance if he was allowed to continue on with his day.

To the end of attacking the whelp, Kaze picked up a bone, a femur no less, from his throne, and yeeted it at the guys head. It wouldn't kill him by any stretch of the imagination, but it would certainly be annoying and distract him. While Kaze didn't feel it was necessary, he wasn't going to get anywhere with this speedy little shit while he was fucking off on his throne.

So Kaze stood up and dismissed his chair before calmly walking over to Shuya and staring down at the lad. Kaze was at least a half foot taller than the shinigami so he was literally staring down at the guy, "Well? What is your plan now?" referencing how little the guy had managed to do so far, not for lack of trying mind you, "Do you flee? Die heroically? Come up with some scheme?"

As if to remind that these notions were meaningless, Kaze flared his reiatsu up pretty high, "Do not misunderstand the gift I bestow." He said flatly and with a firmness that suggested this next thing of his wasn't actually a "Gift", "Roar in defiance at reality.. Noesis!" he thrust his zanpaktou up into the air and burst with spiritual power as his true form manifested. His flesh seemingly peeling off and his hair even disappearing as what remained of him was a horned demon. The hollow Kaze had turned into formed an black staff out of it's own energy which would replace it's Zanpaktou in terms of use and functionality, but otherwise stood there staring intently at Shuya with it's four eyes.

He mostly allowed this shinigami breathing room and time to think because Kaze wanted to see if the pitiful things convictions matched it's actions. If it didn't flee, then Kaze would give it a merciful end, but if it chose life over duty.. Kaze would come up with something nasty to do to it for sure.

Shuya figured that his attack wouldn't end it, but he was surprised at the amount of damage he was able to inflict. But it turned out that the arrancar had taken the hit for his own amusement, choosing instead to casually toss a whole-ass femur at him, which he was able to dodge. This did force Shuya to jump backwards. The swords impaling the arrancar returned to whirling black sand.

The arrancar began to use its resurreccion, and Shuya tightened his lips. Prior to becoming an arrancar this one had surely been a Vasto Lorde, so what he was doing now was almost certainly overkill. Shuya was not a fan of being overkilled, but at the same time, his duty demanded that he stay.

It would be a token gesture, sure, and since he was no rap god he would be forgoing the incantation, but Shuya cast Bakudo 61: Rikujoukourou anyway, assuming that the six binding blades of light would buy him at least a second in order to collect all of his iron sand together before him into a massive spear. This would be his last hurrah.

Abilities Used:

- Bakudo 61: Rikujoukourou
- Preparing Black Sand Spear
