Deep below the Seireitei lied a huge underground complex that had been designed and built by the 12th squad almost 400 years ago. It was commissioned by squad 1 to harbour beings and object of great spiritual power and as such was a veritable fortress. Every door in the area is made of pure Sekkiseki and can only be opened using special codes that change on a daily basis, and every room is plated with 4 foot thick steel. There is only one path in and out of the base, and it leads straight out into the heart of the Seireitei, past thousands of shinigami. Altogether an inescapable prison.

That is, until today. When this building was designed and built, although the shinigami put a front forward saying it was for “beings and objects of great spiritual power,” what they failed to mention was what had prompted the need for this base. Uno, the god of singularity, had ravaged over half of the Seiretei and killed thousands of shinigami before he could be stopped. And he was not dead, just imprisoned in an alternate dimension by a shinigami. If he were ever to escape again, it would be terrible for the Soul Society, and even the entire multiverse.

What the shinigami did not know, however, was that by sending Uno to the other realm, they had effectively destroyed his consciousness, leaving only Arekussu behind. And so, for the past 386 years, Arekussu had been trapped in an alternate reality created from his own mind. He had slowly been gathering his reitsu, waiting for the perfect chance to escape his prison, and he felt that day was coming. In fact, he was fairly sure it was today.

Seira hated this job. It was incredibly boring and really could not be constituted as research in any way. They just sat in this room staring at monitors in 8 hour shifts. The monitors never changed, never fluctuated, and constantly made a small beeping noise that made you want to hit them. She was smart, she should be working in weapons development or energy supply, but instead she was stuck here monitoring some spiritual relic from the past.

Her job got a more interesting fast though when the glowing orb of Reitsu in the room began to pulsate. Every couple of seconds the normally white orb would turn a dark red and grow, then bleed back to white and became a normal size. Every time it did this the reitsu monitoring charts would blast up, as would the temperature. The temperature increase grew every pulse, at first being as small as 3 degrees, but after 6 pulses it was already 10 degrees hotter in the room.

Seira quickly stood and ran to the phone, calling the head of the department. In a moment the head and all employees were in the monitoring room with her, all running scans and test of the pulsating orb. The heat had now increased to almost 30 degrees hotter than it should be, meaning that the room was almost at uninhabitable levels. The reitsu levels were also breaching above normal now, and were slowly increasing as time passed. Something was definitely wrong, but thanks to the fact that none of the shinigami in this room had ever experienced something like this, all they could do is sit and watch as the heat continued to rise and the reitsu levels of the room skyrocketed.

***

Arekussu sat in the center of the cave, his legs crossed and his arms laid comfortably across them. His eyes were closed and the only hint of movement you could see was the faint flickering of his eyes as he did his best to break free from the containment. He was feeling around the edges of this world with his reitsu, looking for any imperfection or crack that he could turn into an opening. His eyes flashed open after a few seconds as he found the space he needed, and in a blur he was stand at the wall. He let out a deep breath, pulled back his fist, allowed his reitsu to flow into the area covering his limb with fire, and punched the wall as hard as he could.

***

The monitoring room shuddered as the orb suddenly expanded to almost 3 times its normal size, sending a small wave of reitsu out and causing many of the monitors to flicker from the excess energy. Seira shuddered as the energy fell over her and stared in horror at the one thing that everyone in the room could not remove their eyes from.

The orb had a crack.

Within the fortress of what is known as Los noches. The Primera, Cross Setsuzoku Scurries around the library. "Where iz dis book?!" Cross was looking for something interesting to read so he could fall asleep while reading it. Just to dream about it, or something like that. Climbing up the shelves, Cross looked at every little book title that he saw. "The legend of the Poking sands." Was the first one he saw. "No no no. dat doesn't sound dat gwood." he commented, drooling from his mouth as the smell of the library got to him. Continuing his ascent, Cross looked at another book. "The Twilight Musician" was the title of this. Now, since Cross does love music so much. This book was an automatic win. Grabbing the book, Cross smiled widely as he fell from the book case. "Imma Dweam about music!" He yelled as he giggled and laughed while he fell from the bookcase. Cross turns his body as his little feet scurry to the edge of the building. Looking over the vast sands of Huenco muendo, he placed the book on his knees as he pushed them up close to his body. "Dis is going to be amazing!!" He sings as he opens the book. Gluing his eyes to every word.

--- Few hours later.

"Dat.Waz.Amazing." He said, drooling on the book as he closed it. He threw it off the building as he fell asleep. He saw music in his dreams. He just started to run. But what was unannounced to Cross, is that he was sleep walking. Flicking his hand, he opened a Garganta. Stepping inside it. His eyes remained closed.

--above 12th division.
The sky split as Cracks formed against the clouds. Sirens could be heard going off as Cross, still sleep walking, Fell from the sky. Landing in the 12th barracks. Multiple shingami came about Cross, surrounding him. "The...The Primera is a kid?!" One yelled as he was in disbelief. "Who cares, that number one tattoo is still on his face!" Another one yelled from the group. Cross's reiatsu surged, Making parasties come from the gorud as the worms ripped the lower halves of shinigamis from their upper bodies. Cross just stood there, skipping towards the center of the barracks as his worms ate the bodies of the shinigami.

Arekussu’s fists continued their barrage on the casing of this world. They had no visual effect on the cave wall, but using his reitsu he could feel his container shaking, watch as the small imperfection grew. He knew that soon it would collapse in on itself, but to be completely honest Arekussu had no idea whether he would survive. Still, death would be better than the constant solitude he had lived with all these years. And possibly death in this world would mean he could travel to wherever Bestia was. It was a fleeting hope however, as his focus switched back to the task at hand. He had saved up reitsu for years for this, but he was not sure if he could escape at all as this was his first attempt. If it failed, it would be hundreds of years before he could attempt again. He must not fail.

**

Sairo worked as fast as she could, attempting along with many other shinigami to get the fluctuating orb of reitsu under control. They were wearing hazmat suits and were inside the chamber now, all of them focusing their reitsu into creating a shield around the orb. Still, their efforts had been futile, and soon even the hazmat suits would not allow them to withstand the heat. With every pules the temperature grew, and it was well over 200 degrees at this point. The pulses were coming faster now aswell, and the orb continued to stretch to larger and larger proportions.

Sweat dropped down Sairo’s face as she pushed out more and more of her own reitsu, to no avail. The shield seemed to be doing nothing, just expanding larger under the force of reitsu being pushed from the orb. She was not sure how long she could hold her section, and knew that it would not be much longer. She took a moment to glance at her counterparts around the orb, and knew that they too were struggling to keep the flow of reitsu solid and stable. Without help from one of the seated officers, or even a captain, the reitsu would burst free, drowning the area in its wake.

Sairo’s eyes widened as the shinigami to her left collapsed, his reitsu almost completely drained. She raised her left hand and closed his part of the shield, although the effort made her stomach feel as if it would tear from her bowels. She must not let this shield fall, no matter what she needed to do.

**

In the monitoring room, the department head wiped the sweat from his brow. He wasn’t sure, but the room he was inhabiting felt much warmer than it should have been. He put it off to nerves, however, as he knew the reishi infused glass that separated the rooms could not be destroyed, no matter how much reitsu it was forced to contain.

It was the same thoughts the Department head had held all those years ago, before the Beast had escaped.

Manda was sleeping peacefully in her room when she felt a Garganta open up. She shot up quickly and looked out her window to see Cross going thru a Garganta. She moved quickly to see where he was heading. It had closed just before she reached it. "I hope he knows what he's up to. she said, realizing where he had gone. Knowing that trouble may be around the corner, Manda opened up her own Garganta and stepped through.

--above the 12th division

The sky had split once more as Manda stepped forward. She walked out of the Garganta and looked around. The sirens were beging to annoy her more than anything. She looked down and saw Cross skipping towards the barracks, letting out his parasites all over the place. She then noticed another group of Shinigami not far off heading right for where Cross was. Knowing it would be better to keep the number of Shinigami attacking Cross to a minimum she sonido'd down to where she stood before the group. "Looks guys, here's another one. Get her" the one in the front yelled. Manda did not like this at all and drew her swords. She then rushed in and began to slice them down.

Cross reached the center of the barracks as he pulled his blade from the sheath on his back. His body was encased in green and red reiatsu as his hair was let down from his pony tail that he usually wears. His body begins to grow. Each limb getting bigger as the reiatsu spreads throughout his body. His voice deepens as he yawns, still not opening his eyes. His upper robes disperse as his bare upper body is exposed, Shining in the sun. His hollow on his stomach would be the very first thing the shinigami see. "It..It was just all a fake body! he really is the Primera!!" They all yelled, panicking. But it soon stopped as the group surrounded Cross. "Give it up Primera! You may be the biggest, but you are alone!" The leader of the group yelled at Cross in a furious tone. Cross took his blade and stabbed it in his chest. "leech..Sanjujila." Cross muttered under his breath.

The explosion of reiatsu was massive. Cross made a hole in the center of the barracks, as his newly released body floated above it. his body was covered in green armor that shinned in the sunlight. he has 8 tentacles that swirled around him each with a hollow mask on it. Sonido'ing into the hole, he blasted the remaining Earth as he fell into the ground. Once he hit a certain depth. he hit a metal door. Pressing his hands on the door, he released his reaitsu. Having the parasites eat away at the metal as he dropped down on his knees. Turning his head to the right. He just floated down teh halls, with his body, and spritual pressure destroying every little detail as he moved down the corridor.

Opening his eyes. He came unto a room with a thick glass covering a few shinigami in the area. He beigns to punch at the glass, every attempt fails as it bends with his fists. he picks up speed, trying everything to burst the glass. Holding out his palm, he bites his tongue as he spits blood into it. causing a gran rey to form. firing it at the glass as it reamins.

Sairo’s concentration faltered for a moment as something shook the entire base. No, she mustn’t fail, the Seireitei was counting on her. This beast, this monster, could not be released on the world. All around her her comrades fell, to low on reitsu to continue their shielding, but Sairo stood tall amongst them. Her eyes glowed as her green reitsu spilled from her, creating the entire shield around the orb. Her sword was released at her side, her zanpacto spirit urging her on in her mind. Even as a blast of reitsu hit the glass window to her right, splattering the remains of the shinigami who had been watching her display across it, she continued to hold the shield. It mustn’t break.

**

Arekussu felt as his consciousness drained from him, his reitsu leaving his body at such a quick rate that he could barely feel his exterior limbs. Still he pounded at the edge of his containment, knowing that all that was holding him was one final shield of reitsu. He began to fall into the beast, not having enough reitsu to maintain his hold on his body. Still, after years of training, the beast was no longer completely uncontrollable as he had been previously. He sighed as the last fist under his control hit the wall, and let the beast have the body, receding to the back of his mind.

He watched from behind blank eyes as his body transformed, his arms growing longer and his legs stretching and pulsating. His eyes tore open and stretched to the sides of his head, becoming dark red in colour as his mouth did the same. His teeth cracked and split and his tongue grew to almost 2 feet long as the beast completed his partial control of the body that harboured Arekussu. Arekussu knew that the beast wanted more, wanted his full body, but that was one thing that Arekussu wouldn’t do, couldn’t do. Something about the release had scarred Arekussu’s mind so badly that just the thought sent him reeling in terror. No, he would not do that for some time.

He watched as the beast destroyed what was left of his prison, and felt relieved for the first time in many years.

**

Sairo felt the cage break but could do nothing to stop it, nor the torrent of energy that was released afterwards. The only think that stopped her from dieing instantly was the remains of her forcefield that diverted the flow around her body. Instead of instant disintegration, she was thrown back and hit the wall hard. She crumpled instantly, and before she fell into unconsciousness she only thought one thing; Failure.

**

The reitsu that exploded from the orb demolished everything in its path, easily subverting the defenses of the steel walls and specifically designed doors. The explosion was trapped as it rebounded of the Gran ray Cero, however, and took the path of least resistance; directly up. Reitsu exploded from the ground beneath the Seireitei, causing a huge rift to appear in the earth and destroying countless buildings and all their inhabitants.

And in the crater stood the Beast, his scream cutting the air like a knife, calling all those in the area to the slaughter.

Manda had torn through most of the squad that she landed near before she felt the quaking of the ground below her feet. She knew she had to get out of there and fast. She sonido'd out of the way just as the ground below where she was exploded, taking out the remaining Shinigami that was there. She had moved to where she was a distance above where she previously was. She looked down to where she was standing and saw a crater had been caused from the explosion. In the middle stood the Beast. Manda did not like what she saw at all. She also saw Cross had released and felt it best to leave the two to fight. She looked around and saw another squad of shinigami heading towards the crater. Smiling evily she moved down quickly to begin to cut this squad down. "Now don't be in a hurry to die. You won't be able to reach those two unless you get through me." she said.

Cross opened his eyes as he heard the roar enter his ears. Looking around him, He couldn't believe that he was in the Soul society. "What am I doing? Suicide? he commented as he smirked. The green armor slowly crept up his face, covering his mouth and lower jaw as he looked forward to the beast roaring in the middle of the crater. "What.. What is this thing?" He thought, covering his ears from the roaring. It wasn't bad, it was just annoying to Cross. Holding out his palm, he tried to converse with the being in front of him.

"Whoa whoa, calm down there. Is your name Arekussu, The Twilight Musician?" Cross didn't want to get hostile until he had to. So the very first thing he wanted to do. Was find out the beings name. If it was Arekussu, the same man he read about. Then Cross just might have found a new ally. Looking over him, Cross shook his head. "Take a damn breath. Quit the roaring and calm the hell down." The alst thing Cross wanted to do, was to cause this beast to become even more pissed off. So Cross takes a few steps back. Trying to show he doesn't mean hostility. Cross even let his hollow tentacles form against his body. Not even protuding anymore. The only thing he wanted to do, was active his scale hierro, which he did. THis was just precaution from the beast,in case he did do anything.

Sweat, fear and blood permeated the smells that flew into the beast’s highly sensitive nostrils, mixed with something else too; the remains of a disease of some sort, infectious, killing shinigami above ground. He could smell the blood that littered the edges of the craters and could hear the sounds of the fighting as clear as if he was amongst the falling dead. And oh how he wanted to be there, soaking in the blood of his enemies, devouring their soul essence, feeding on their fear. It would be a glorious slaughter today.

His eyes swiveled and he turned his head to view the being standing to his right. It was clad in green armor from its feet to its head, and he could see tentacles retracting into the thing’s body. The reitsu emanating from him was strong, to strong to ignore. That is, until the an began to speak to the beast. Some words stumbled from the thing’s mouth, but all the beast knew was that the man was not attacking him. Never letting an opportunity like that pass, the beast grinned and jumped into the air, cresting the ridge of the crater, and ran to the group of shinigami, diving into the middle of a group that was running from the other being of significant power that stood ahead of him.

His arms began swinging, tearing the shingami to pieces, their blood spilling over him as he screamed.

**

Arekussu watched the events unfold and found it interesting that the arrancar had not attempted to attack him. The hollow even knew his name if it was to be understood. Somehow, though, Arekussu did not feel it was safe to trust him. He knew that if he attempted to retake control at this point he would be weak to the point of death, and that even a low level shinigami could kill him. No, the safest plan was to allow the Beast his moments of destruction, and when the time was right, use a gargantia to escape somewhere safe. It would need to be hidden, somewhere where he could rest for a few weeks without being disturbed.

He supposed he could see if the arrancar was meaning to help him, but that would leave his life in the arrancar’s hands. Arekussu was not ready to trust anyone so easily.

Manda had just finished cutting down another group of Shinigami when she realized they were running away. "Cowards." she said as she saw this. She then realized that the beast that was in the middle of the crater was tearing through those that were running from her. Getting mad for a moment she was about to attack when something told her that it might be better to run away at the moment. She slices one last Shinigami before she Sonido's up and into the air above where she was. She uses this vantage point to see that in a different alley there is another group of Shinigami heading right for Cross. She silently laughs at herself as she jumps down on them, catching them off guard. She then continues her carnage of the low lever Shinigami that are comming towards her.
