#1Cayo [Hollow | Complete] Empty Cayo [Hollow | Complete] Thu Jul 19, 2018 7:22 pm

Knox Lewis

THE HOLLOW APPLICATION

Name: Cayo
Alias: N/A
Real Age: 13
Phys. Age: ???
Gender: Male
Hollow Stage: Lesser
Personality: Cayo is still very much the child that he was when he died. He's very friendly and has the childish naivety that even those who aren't immediately friendly may eventually warm up to him. Being that he's still very much a child, he's often very happy for little to no reason at all, even if he's not happy he's usually in good spirits about one thing or another. Having spent all of his afterlife on Earth, he hasn't come across many people who are higher functioning, those whom he did he found interesting and accidentally disposed of. The accidents come from his lack of basic knowledge. Being a hollow, he lacks understanding of almost anything outside of his basic survival instincts. For example, he's slow to pick up on social nuances or just the general meaning of things that he's not encountered before.

Being a hollow has changed Cayo and while he is still a child, he is far from innocent. He adores making friends and playing, though more often than not his 'friends' and playthings are one and the same. The childish part of him wants to play games with those he captures using his power, often twisting games children play into something fitting a Brothers Grimm tale. He doesn't realize he's killing or even harming those he plays with, not that he'd care if he did, because he believes that those whom he plays with can also regenerate their bodies with the same ease he can. This leads him to maiming the bodies of those he kills in fits of rage, as he believes them to be still alive and just pretending to be dead so they don't have to 'play' anymore. The childish part of him is preserved through his own perceived innocence in the acts he commits because he doesn't ever think anything he does is wrong.

Hollow Hole: His hole is where his left lung would be and it measures 3" in diameter.

CHARACTER APPEARANCE

Height: 4'6"
Weight: 70 lbs
Physical Traits: The first thing anyone tends to notice about Cayo is his height. He's short and not like short for an adult. He's child size. Standing at only four foot eight, he often has to crane his neck to look up at those whom he converses with. This results in him often nearly bending backward just to make eye contact with just about anyone. Common sense would tell most people to just stand farther back but Cayo just gets so excited about talking to his new friends that he runs up to them and stands right at their feet to look them in the eye.

What most people notice next is Cayo's mask. The hard mask is far from anything a traditional hollow might sport, his is covered with a kaleidoscope of colors. In fact, the colors of the mask change depending on what's in his surroundings. In Hueco Mundo, it'd reflect the shades of black, white, and grey, whereas on Earth, say in New York City, it would reflect the colors of the various billboards, cars, clothing, and signage that surrounded him. There isn't much to the mask's shape, it simply fits snugly around his face with wide set eyes and a perpetual gaping mouth as though he's constantly in awe of everything around him. A mop of messy orange hair bounces atop his head, draping over the top of the mask and peaking around it's edges.

The last thing most people notice, when really it should be one of the first things, is Cayo's limbs. Or, rather, the lack thereof. Instead of sporting the traditional two arms, two legs, or some variation of that, his body seems to be enveloped in a sort of sack. The sack seems to be made of something akin to skin and covers everything below the neck, beginning at the equivalent of a collarbone and, well, it doesn't end. The only exception to the sack is his hollow hole, which could best be described as being sort of tunnel. The sack even goes through the hollow hole to keep all of his juicy bits on the inside. Other than that though, it simply encompass the rest of his body. The sack is skin colored and even bruises like real skin would! It encompasses his body in such a way that it almost looks like a skin colored balloon deflated around him. It drapes, folds, creases, and even bulges depending on the forces applied to it.

Beneath the sack his body can almost be called decomposed. There's no set structure to his body or its organs, as nearly everything is free floating in a sea of blood inside of the sack. The only thing that has any sort of structure is his central skeleton, if only for the purpose of keeping his head level. While his arms and legs typically default to the 'standard' human position, they are also capable of moving around inside the sack as he sees fit. This can be tricky because as his limbs move his intestines, arteries, and other internals may drape across the skeletal structure and protrude from the sack accordingly. Seeing that his organs are always being stepped on, his body is almost constantly in a state of regeneration in some form or another though it's largely without his being aware unless by some miracle he steps on his heart or other vital organ.

Cayo's voice is unsettling, to say the least. At first glance it seems to have aged with his soul and being one of a boy just on the cusp of puberty. Anyone with any sense at all that holds a conversation with him long enough will realize that something about the voice isn't quite right. It drifts rather casually through ranges of pitch, too many to be normal. Most don't notice thanks to his short bursts of speech and the fact that most of the pitches are close together but every so often, one will slip out that seems several octaves out of place for who and what he is.

Spiritual Description: Cayo's reiatsu takes the form of a cocoon of mirrors surrounding the young hollow. The mirrors are the representation of the child's constantly shifting attention, each tiny fragment capable of reflecting a different object that catches his attention. An individual that encounters his reiatsu would likely feel as though they were being watched as their image was reflected back at them by the mirrors. If one could study their reflection, they would find that the areas of their body Cayo found most interesting would be changed in some way therefore making an exact replica impossible.

THE COMBAT INFORMATION

General Fighting Style:  Cayo tends to keep his hands and arms inside of his sack, the exception being when he attacks. When he attacks he pierces his sack with his razor sharp fingers and uses their sharpness coupled with their needle-like tips to slash and otherwise maim his victims. Usually he keeps his feet inside but it should be noted that his feet are capable of the same damage output as his hands, thanks to his talon like toes.

It's important to note that Cayo does not distinguish between friends and foes when fighting. That is to say, he'll go all out in a 'spar' just as much as if the fight were the real thing. His brain isn't advanced enough to know the fight isn't actually life or death.

BACK-DROP

History: Born to a pair of adoring, if young, parents, Cayo grew up knowing he was well cared for. His parents, grandparents, and most everyone he knew encouraged and nurtured his sense of wonder about the world. Like most adults do, the encouraged his love of fictitious characters like Santa, the Easter Bunny, and even the Toothfairy. He was, like every kid, asking endless questions about the world around him and those around him did their best to answer. He had a fascination with the Circus, Fairs, and Boardwalks, always thinking that they seemed like endless fun. Whenever he'd see one on television, he'd beg for weeks for his parents to take him often exclaiming that there was fun around every corner. Eventually, his parents did break down and take him to a local boardwalk one summer. While his father tried to win him a stuffed bear from a carnie's stand and his mother was in the bathroom, Cayo ran away crying "Hide and Seek, you're it!" He ran around the boardwalk for several minutes, giggling as he heard his parent's desperate cries for him to come out. As they grew closer to his hiding place under one of the booths, he made a dash in the opposite direction. Unfortunately, the opposite direction was right off the pier and into the water. Cayo did his best to stay above the ocean's waves, but eventually drown.

Cayo woke as a plus not long after officials pulled his body from the salt water. He immediately noticed the heavy metal plate on his chest and tried his best to pull it off. His mother and father wouldn't answer his questions about what had happened, seemingly outright ignoring him. It was days that he followed his parents, asking them questions and eventually begging them to answer. Ironically, the day of his funeral was the day he gave up pestering them and wandering off on his own to find something to occupy himself. Not long after he left their side, the final link of his Chain disappeared and he began to hollowfy.

His early days of hollowdom were unremarkable, his new form was foreign and he was lost in a frenzy of the endless hunger that now plagued him. His tiny hometown saw several people in the immediate area go missing or, worse, turn up dead as he went on his rampage. Eventually he moved on to another city close by and he found for a fleeting moment, before his hunger took over, some joy in the excitement that seemed to hum through the city's air. He left a trail of havoc in his wake as he trashed anything he could get his hands on.

Eventually, he moved on to another city and another after that. Most were the same cases as his hometown and the neighboring city before he encountered another hollow. Their encounter was brief and was almost his end. The other hollow was deffinately the more experienced hunter and Cayo nearly found his end at the beast's hand. He'd lost a lot of blood and most of his vital organs to the other beast. It  called him weak and not worth its energy, yet it hunted him through the new territory. Without much of a reason why, Cayo found himself desperate to live as the beast rounded the corner to charge him through. Before a fatal blow could be dealt, Cayo closed his eyes and felt a strange sensation.

A he found himself looking out at the beast who, beneath its mask, bore a confused expression. His hunger, rage, and instinct drove the young hollow to pitch himself back out toward the other beast. His claws were drawn and found purchase in the beast's neck. The thrill of feeling himself win at something sent him into a frenzy, his claws tearing into the soft flesh again and again long after the beast was dead. Cayo had finally found something he was good at! He picked his kill clean before he moved on, feeling something other than hunger for the first time since his hollowfication.

Cayo eventually went on to roam the world over, passing through town after town. His first kill had been an accident but the subsiquent killings had been more than deliberate. They'd been fun! He found that pluses had grown boring, though he couldn't quite remember where or even when he'd come to the realization. He just knew they didn't put up as much of a fight but he'd still play with one if there wasn't any other interesting prey in the vicinity. He'd come to prefer hunting what he'd come to know was his own kind, knowing they were more filling, though never filling enough, than their mortal soul counterparts. He'd come up with some interesting tricks with his little mirrors! They could move and they could make shapes! Here and there, he'd use them to play with the soul he captured and he found out more about their limits. Both the soul's and his mirror's. He also found that, for some reason, he enjoyed playing with his 'friends' more than hunting them even if they did taste great.

Being who he is, Cayo eventually became bored with hunting. After all, a child can only do the same thing for so long before it becomes boring. Right? He's come to the point where he'll play with his food more than he worries about eating it, legitimately enjoying himself. He's come to have a personality beyond just his insatiable hunger, though it's still coming to light. From what can be seen of it, he's still very much a child underneath everything that makes him a hollow. He's just starting to evolve and become something more. In recent months, he's traveled to Hueco Mundo in an effort to stop the call it echoes to him on Earth. While there he's met a couple of arrancar and even a few hollows (that he didn't eat)!

Side Notes: He's crazy.

Roleplay Sample: Cayo had been chasing the young plus boy around for the better part of the day. The boy had gone through the stages of pleading and grief, now he was straight up angry. Cayo watched the boy from the rooftop, his head cocked to one side so that his mask reflected shimmering light back down on the helpless plus. Whatever obscenities and slurs the Plus hurled his way were lost on the hollow, what little bit of conscious thought he had that could be considered a mind was too hung up on the boy himself. From his mop of messy hair to his drab "of the month" GAP clothes, he reminded Cayo of someone.

The hollow pitched himself from the rooftop, his body falling rather unceremoniously to the ground. He landed with a squelch sound that would have made most anyone's stomach turn, the Plus laughing at his apparent clumsiness thinking he'd get away. In a matter of moments though the young hollow hefted himself upright as his body began to repair itself. His green eyes watched the young Plus's face turn from joy to horror as he shuffled in his direction. As the child tried to turn and run, a shimmering sheet of reflective material appeared in his path, effectively trapping him and the hollow together.

It didn't take long for the hollow to overtake the Plus. He sat on the child's chest, pinning his arms to the ground almost as though they were a pair of siblings caught in a wrestling match. As the nameless boy watched, Cayo's hand seemed to spring into existence from under the shroud of his sack only to dig into his shoulder. He screamed in pain as the hollow severed muscle from sinew, and bone from flesh. Blood pooled around the Plus's body and beneath Cayo's sack as he sat looking into the boy's face.

"Make-" he began, but a wave of intense hunger quickly swept over him. Almost enough for him to begin feeding on the child in a frenzy, but he'd hunted for too long to forgo the opportunity before him. As the wave broke and he found himself able to process he continued. "New one."

Excuses sprang from the boy's lips as though they were water and his mouth a fountain. Cayo watched and waited for the child to regrow his severed limb, while piece by piece the old one disappeared. The flesh was much softer than that of the other hollowbreeds he'd consumed, not that he particularly minded much about the other meat. They were usually more fun to hunt but they made him frustrated. None of them understood his mirrors and try as he might he couldn't do any of the cool things they could do. Some of them could make their body regrow like he could though, so it had to be something they all could do. Right?

Something caught his attention as he waited for the boy's limb to regrow. It called to him like a voice across water, it was distant but he could just make out its call if he listened hard enough. It was even louder than the pit in his stomach growled. His hand appeared from his sack once more, pushing on the material as he reached out. He wanted to know what that call was, he wanted to answer.

The world seemed to groan at his unknown request. It bent around his tiny fingers, curving inward until it all but punctured itself and collapsed. Reality seemed to fold in on itself as what began as a pinprick hole at his fingertips turned into a gaping maw as wide as the alley he was in. It pulsed and hummed with a voiceless drone that was just this side of inaudible, something that was more felt than heard. Cayo could feel it in his mask and in his bones. He didn't know what this was but he needed to find out.

Popping the last bit of the first arm into his mouth, the hollow began to stand before reconsidering and lowering himself once more. In one quick swipe, he severed the Plus's other arm before standing and moving toward the hole. As he stepped through, he looked back at the boy. He was bleeding out and probably losing consciousness but he was still alive. If he didn't wake himself up soon, he'd be easy prey for the next hungry soul. Cayo didn't especially care, the boy's arm would serve as a decent enough snack.

Moving through the space within the hole was strange. It felt like moving through jell-o, every effort made forward was met with resistance. Not quite enough that one was forced backward but just enough that you felt like more energy was wasted than what was necessary. The hollow walked for what seemed like days, the arm he'd taken with him having disappeared within the first few minutes within the hole despite his attempt at pacing himself, before he finally felt the call culminate before him. Another hole opened itself before him, a blinding light on the other side but he all but threw himself into it to silence the call inside of him.

Air whipped at his hair as he fell. His body twisted as he hurtled downward, he managed to spot the hole he'd come from as he spun and noticed it was, for whatever reason, several hundred feet in the air, the spinning was almost enjoyable if the immanent threat of death wasn't so close at hand. A series of his mirrors shimmered into existence, the first one directly below him. He flung himself from panel to panel using the momentum of the fall to propel him. From his vantage point in the sky, he could see for miles around even if it was only for seconds at a time. Almost everything he could see was white. White sand, white trees, white rocks, and even a white castle waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy in the distance.

He finally crash landed into one of the sand dunes, a huge white plume of smoke erupting into the air. Cayo sputtered and coughed as he tried to gain his bearings as the dust settled. Shaking himself off after he was sure he could breathe, he skurried to the top of the dune to see what was around.

There was nothing but sand for miles around. As far as his little eyes could see, the hollow saw nothing but a vast expanse of nothingness. Somewhere in the little sack of his a heart beat a million miles an hour. This was new! It was exciting! And he couldn't wait to find someone to play with~!
