Zhu Long rapped her knuckles against the armrests of her chair, looking at the manila folder before her. Kirou. Back in her younger days, he was the one who was, for all intents and purposes, in charge of the Detention Unit of the Second. He was the one who taught her how to properly handle criminals that roamed free within the walls of the Maggot's Nest, as well as trained her to properly be a member of their Division. This was, of course, before she became the Vice Captain underneath their Former Captain, and then rising up to the challenge of Captaincy after the Invasion. Yet, throughout this time, he remained a steadfast Third Seat and competent leader of the Maggot's Nest. But, according to her paperwork, he wasn't actually a Corps Commander.

She aimed to get the paperwork of her former Captain's back under control. She paid Seishin a visit just this week to speak to her and lock her own role as a Corps Commander in. Perhaps it was time to make it official with Kirou.

The Captain stood up, disappearing once she placed her Haori onto her shoulders, and leaving the room in a series of Flash Steps that took her to Kirou's own barracks. Politely, she knocked, standing in the door frame with bated breath. "Kirou? It's Zhu. Can we speak?"

"Of course, Zhu-taichou" Kirou would answer, he had recognized the voice immediately, he had intentionally stayed under the radar passing up promotions because of just how important his roll as head of the maggots nest and the punishment force that monitored those deemed too dangerous to let roam free, yet for one reason or another were not sentenced to execution. And frankly should anyone who takes over for him have hoho and hakuda skills that are otherwise lacking the entire soul society could have some serious repercussions.

Though unfortunately that meant that most of his time was spent isolated from the majority of the squad, just his little sub members were his primary interactions. And today would be one of the few he has actually decided to take away from the nest to let his second run the place while he himself rested. "How may I be of assistance"

Zhu walked into the room with Kirou, a smile upon her face and the manila folder underneath her arms. She bowed her head, something she would never cease doing when meeting with the Third Seat. He was one of her primary drives for studying so fiercely in the skills she was considered a master in, and was one of the few people in the Gotei to give her a reason to care about the internal integrity and safety of her Division. It was why she improved the Court Troop, why she helped initially bolster the defenses within the Maggot's Nest. He helped explain why the Second was so... necessary.

"I'm just here to start keeping the paperwork back in order. I've been gone for a while, and Seishin-san didn't keep her nose to the books as much as she was intended to, but neither did our former Captain... so I suppose it's up to me to start doing my job, you know?" She withdrew the folder, placing it on the table for Kirou to see. In it, it stated that he wasn't quite recorded as the Corps Commander for the Detention Unit or the Maggot's Nest overseer. As far as Zhu knew, he was given such a responsibility due to his steadfast hand and absolute dedication to the position. But when Zhu became Captain, she made it a point to bring the Onmitsukido back to snuff and organizing the files and putting her seated officers back into positions where they needed a leader was the first task she wanted to do upon her return.

"Personally, I'd like to take this in two parts. One, making sure you're fit to watch over the denizens of the Maggot's Nest and making sure you're fit to help lead the Detention Unit and, if need be, the Punishment Force that I lead, in instances where I need a Lieutenant to help me in the field. Second, making sure I can get your signature on this piece of paper and expect you to continue doing the best that I know you've been doing since I myself joined the division. So, what do you say?"

"Ah fair enough, that sounds annoying." Kirou would say, so they are playing catch up and dotting their eyes and such. "So what did you have in mind for part One?" The silver haired ninja had his own ideas for that, but frankly with Kirou's history within the squad, and his mastery of Shunkou it should not be a question as to whether or not he could do his job, but new leadership even when the people have a history can lead to people covering all of their bases. Plus if Zhu needed the silver haired ninja else where he would do his best to fill the role. But he would require that he test his replacement himself minimum.

Zhu held the manila folder to her chest with a delicate smile, almost child-like in nature, on her face. She was certainly a polarizing person compared to her trusted Third Seat, as his voice was often quiet and his words short, with a tone that reminded her of what ninjas were really for. But she had her own tone that was typically... well, excitable. Very un-stealthy.

"We can go about it with a trip to the Maggot's Nest and you showing me firsthand how you handle the newer criminals, as well as the older ones who might have gotten a little... shall we say, stir-crazy? Or, we can go into one-on-one combat and test your strength against me to see if you lead the Punishment Force. Either choice is completely up to you."

"Up to you Zhu Taichou, but either way it seems we shall be getting out of here." Kirou would respond, opening the door he would bow graciously and gesture to his captain in an 'After you' manner. Once the two of them were out of his office the silver haired ninja would proceed to lead the way towards the maggots nest, the weather was quite pleasant for a little jaunt like this, the sky bright, and the breeze cool. All in all one could not ask for a perfect day.

About two thirds of the way to the maggots nest Kirou would stop, "There is a nice clearing near here that we could use for the sparring, or we could finish the trip and you can see first hand how we keep the maggots nest in order."

With that Kirou would just kind of lean against a tree and await his captains decision, Should she decide she would rather first hand see his skills then Kirou would lead the way to a decent sized clearing, maybe 15 feet across, in a near perfect circle of ankle high soft grass surrounded by tall trees that let just enough light through to give warm spots to doze in, while covering most of it in shadows. Should she rather see the maggots nest he would just continue to lead the way there. Where even she as the head of the squad would be forced to relinquish her blade before being allowed past the first checkpoint.

The Captain thought about it briefly, tapping her fingers against her forearm before placing them on Kirou's shoulder. "I believe you're strong enough to lead the Punishment Corps. Let's see how you handle the scum of the Seireitei first-hand."

With that, she followed the man, beginning to prepare for the standard de-arming. Kagutsuchi grumbled quietly within her mind, hating being too far from her, but understanding the policies of the Onmitsukido. She was sure that if Zhu ever needed her, then she would retrieve her. The blade was in hand, as well as the Kote that lined her shoulder, which she herself argued could be used as a weapon due to the fact that it was harder than a fist. However, the only weapon she kept was her own bare hands.

"Here we are."

Kirou nodded at the captain's choice and lead the way, Nobu and he did not have much of a relationship together so that lent to an easier time separating from him. Even though it still felt like a portion of his very being was being separated, though he spent so much time without that piece it almost felt weirder to be with it. Once the pair of them were through the checkpoint they would take the elevator down to the first level, a relatively wide open expanse, a man made stream cutting through it, with artificial sunlight above. The dirt was laced with trace amounts of sekiseki gently draining the reiryoku from the inhabitants. This floor consisted of pretty much the most docile of the residents here, who all seemed to be in some kind of drug induced stupor, their eyes dull and lifeless, as if all hope had been drained of them. "As you probably remember from your brief stint here, this floor is for those who have given up their hope of ever being free of here, and those we would consider minimum security risks."

Making his way across nodding to those with enough will power to even try to greet him Kirou would enter into the guarded elevator that would bring them down even deeper. Jumping down to the fourth floor where the residents would be stronger and rowdier, stopping at each floor so that the captain could see the manned checkpoint stations outside of each elevators doors, each of them with atleast a half dozen men stationed at them themselves, with more than twice that roaming around the field where the residents were. "And here we are, the last stop before the isolation cells, composed of sekiseki, and where the worst of them are bound with specialized spirit restraints that will not even allow them to move. Though rumor has it there is supposed to be a section below even that, though in all my years of service I have yet to find a way to gain access to it, so I am pretty sure it is just that, a rumor."

As they would step off of the elevator the guards at the station would just wave them through, nodding to them as he passed Kirou would step out onto what is quite possibly the tallest floor in the entirety of the maggots nest. It's ceiling standing a good 3-4 times higher than that of the other floors, and of the about 4 dozen people visible, it was quite easy to tell why the ceilings were so tall, as there were a half dozen pure giants. A massive silver wolf who looked like it could eat an elephant for a snack, four people with bird like wings, and a couple with horns and bat like wings. The rest appeared to be purely human, though physically not as imposing as their cell mates they seemed no worse for wear because of it. These were truly the worst beings that the soul society had captured, some being former shinigami, some bandits too strong for their own good. Hell one of them was a fullbringer, who just would not die no matter what was thrown at him.

And though these guys were intimidating enough to give off an oppressive aura each, they all gave Kirou a wide berth as he approached, they knew who the king of the Maggots Nest was, and none of them felt like pushing their luck. Especially when shortly after the first month of taking this position Kirou decided that this floor here would be the best place to train, and for the following 6 months he resided here among them taking his meals and sleeping there. He even made a deal with them, if any of them could get the best of him and take his key from his shihakkusho none of the guards in the rest of the place would stop that person as they tried to leave. Needless to say they all tried, even trying to come all at once, and since they are all here, well you can guess the results. "None of the other guards like patrolling this level on their own, I think that they are scared to be honest. But after humiliating the lot of them for 6 months straight they tend to leave me be, I will tell you this now, before i accept any promotion, and we choose a replacement for me here they will have to be able to stay half a year on this floor with these guys and not lose to them once. No matter when or how they attack."

Zhu kept her arms crossed beneath her chest, staying by Kirou's side as he gave her the ever-nostalgic tour of the Detention Unit's home. Not much had changed since he originally showed her around, but given her own strength and the ranking she had now, she was able to see more this time around. Granted, it wasn't her first time down so low, but with Kirou? It was a little different.

She had her Corps Commander.

"There's no worries. I'm comfortable enough with you staying as the Overseer of the Maggot's Nest, as long as you're willing to keep a secure eye on it." She looked at the wolf, crimson eyes bearing down on it, before moving to the other individuals. "Although at some point, you'll have to tell me the story of your time down here with these people. Maybe sometime over tea or something that you'd enjoy recounting the tale with," she said, a small smile on her face. Even now, in comparison to Kirou and his prisoners, she still looked... too kind. Less assassin-y. The only real show of how threatening she even was was the Haori resting on her shoulders, but that was it.

"What about the rules of interaction with the criminals?" She took a few steps closer to one of the individuals with the wings, her arms still crossed. "Or the rules in general? We know of the no weaponry rule, but with those who reside on the topmost floor being able to walk freely and interact, what would the rules be for communicating or even contacting these people?"

"Yeah, we could do that some time, though I will warn you most of it was boring, didn't get real interesting till the last couple of weeks when they decided to try team work" Kirou would say as he gestured for them to start heading back out, "As for rules for interaction, normally anyone outside of our squad, or not currently imprisoned here isn't allowed to interact with the squad without a notice signed by you and an appointment scheduled for a few days in advance so that we can make sure they have a competent escort. As for communication within the compound we actually encourage it among the inmates, and even between some of the jailers and inmates at least here on the 'Yard' levels where they can roam free. Should the captain follow him, he would lead to the elevator and gesture to the control panel for her to decide whether she wants to go down to the solitary levels or up to the top floor and out of the Maggots Nest. "The solitary levels however are a bit different, they are silent completely, an advanced bakudo has been cast on all who reside there that leaves the residents mute until released, and their restraints restrict their ability to manipulate their reiryoku to the point where they can't muster enough to break the spell themselves. The guards are not to speak to them except to utter commands when they deliver sustenance so that the residents don't starve to death. Basically those floors are as close to hell as we can sentence them too, since we can't exactly send them there."
