Alabaster hummed to himself, his over-sized sleeves flapping in the wind as he stood at his post. His bony white starfish mask rested on top of his head and his snow-white hair fluttered quietly as a breeze blew from behind him. Alabaster frowned, looking over his shoulder as various battles raged all over and around Hueco Mundo. "They're having fun... I'm jealous..." Alabaster muttered to himself before turning to face forward and stand in his super boring post. Why wasn't anyone coming this way? Alabaster wanted to fight too! It wasn't fair! Frustrated, the childlike Arrancar stomped his foot then gently kicked at one of the sand dunes and let out a loud huff.

H
ueco Mundo, a place of wide open skies and white sand as far as the eye could see. It was a place dense in reiatsu but sparse in typical life. Sure, hollows roamed the area but most seemed to be small and burrowed underground whenever something approached them. It was not a place where one would like to find themselves for extended periods of time, that was for sure.

Yasushi had entered the world on the orders of the Gotei. It seemed that they had some idea that retaliation in this manner would be beneficial for the Soul Society in some way. Not really how Yasushi saw it, weren’t they just leading more of their people to potentially be harmed or killed. Even if they did some damage to the enemy? Wouldn’t a better solution be fortifying their current location and strengthening their numbers? Perhaps Yasushi was just not one that stomached fighting like this. In all honesty, he hoped that the Arrancar that he was dispatched to handle wouldn’t be too battle-crazed.

As he reached the peak of one of the larger sand dunes in the area, Yasushi was able to get a better feel of the landscape around him. More importantly, he was able to not only sense but see the Arrancar that was his target.

“Guess it’s time?”

He used his shunpo and reached an area that was a respectful distance from the opposing Arrancar. Enough room to evade possible attacks but close enough to carry-out his own. Upon reaching there, Yasushi would attempt to speak out to the creature.

“Am I correct to presume this outpost belongs to you?”

Clearly Yasushi was not another Arrancar. He was curious as to how this man would react.

Once he got a bit closer, Yasushi would realize that his initial assessment of the figure being a man was far from correct. The white-haired boy was a couple inches shy of five-and-a-half feet tall. His uniform was a bit too big for his small frame, his sleeves hanging down way past his wrists and covering his hands. Raising an over-sized sleeve as if to point at Yasushi, Alabaster nodded, his large eyes and snow-white hair accentuated by what looked like a large and spiny starfish on top of his head. "Yup! This is my station. I'll mess you up good!"

Though his voice was raised Alabaster's declaration oddly lacked fluctuations in tone, as if he were stating simple facts like gravity existed. There was a silence in the air, a tension as Alabaster stared Yasushi down before zipping off in the familiar static noise of Sonido. Alabaster reappeared about 20 feet off to Yasushi's left, left arm-sleeve raised as a series of 5 bony spines fired off towards the man from the arm-hole at Bala speeds. Through all this, Alabaster's expression was dispassionate and neutral, not revealing any sort of strong feelings yet.

A
child?

Yasushi’s stomach churned. Why was he facing a child? This did not seem right. Frist the woman Arrancar who manipulated plants and now this kid? What was the Gotei thinking here? Was this some sort of mental test for him? Did they want to see how he would react in these situations? The boy immediately revealed himself the warden of this region and in the mood to mess him up real good. Yasushi’s attitude only dropped further by this declaration. It seemed that he meant it too. Though the air hung silent for a moment, the static sound and blur motion before his eyes clued Yasushi in on the boy’s action. A sonido. A hollow’s ability to move at a fast pace. Some say even Shunpo is slower than it. Almost instinctively, Yasushi instead of staying still or trying to clash in mid-step against the boy opted to shunpo backward, towards a neighboring sand dune.

“Oh, that’s unfortunate.”

He stated as he emerged, watching as the boy’s spines crashed into the sand where he once stood. A cloud of white erupted into the sky above. Clearly each one of the spikes packed a great deal of force. Plus the boy was fast. He shouldn’t play around here. He drew his sword, as he used shunpo to another neighboring dune, just in case the boy seemed to try to charge him to stop his release.

“Calm, Shizukesa.”

His voice has become somewhat somber. The blade’s hilt quickly changed to blue color and a small tassel object hung from the base. He held the blade up in a slightly defensive state, ready to perry or block if the boy attacked.

“You know, I’d much rather not fight a child. Perhaps we can discuss a better course of action for both our sides?”

Alabaster shifted his weight forward slightly before appearing right in front of Yasushi. "I wanna fight though!" The small Arrancar let out his declaration, his body shifted forward slightly as he aimed a punch at Yasushi's stomach. However, at the last minute he would duck and roll forward, drawing his tanto and aiming at slash at Yasushi's leg instead. "Everyone else gets to fight, I wanna fight too!" Alabaster would then spin on his heel, firing off three more spines from his arm towards Yasushi, wherever he may be located at that time.

is hunch was right.

The kid didn’t stay put for too long, good thing he had gotten some distance between them. He needed to figure out just what this kid’s abilities were. All he had seen so far was an impressive sonido and a quill attack that seems to have moderate damage but intense speeds. Letting that man in close or mid-range combat might not be the smartest. Unfortunately for Yasushi, his zanpaktou needed that close touch to really shine. Yasushi had only exited his shunpo for a mere moment when the boy appeared right before him again. Catching Yasushi nearly by surprise. Thankfully he had already raised his sword in a defensive stance.

As the boy leaned in for a punch, Yasushi held his ground. He watched the boy’s movement carefully. He was fast, that was true, but with Shizukesa’s ability amplifying his perception abilities, he could tell it was a feint. The odd movement downward prompted Yasushi to take a step backward, shifting his stance and sword into a lower defense. The boy’s blade clashed right into Yasushi’s own without a moment to spare on Yasushi’s part.

“Sho.”

With one hand using his sword to block the blow, the other had been lifted to point in the general direction of the boy. All Yasushi needed was to speak the words and the spell ignited. Due to the awkward heel spin the boy was trying to perform in the moment of battle, coupled with the Tranquil Blow the boy had just touched and Yasushi’s Slowed Perspective, he had timed the sho to likely strike and knock the man and his attack off balance. Leaving Yasushi clear from the spikes and the boy likely to be tumbling down the large sand dune they were standing on top of.

Yasushi would pursue the boy’s flight path. Readying for his sword to clash with the boy once more. It was unlikely he totally noticed that he had begun to slow down yet. So far the only time he would have had a chance was when he was trying to get off those spike attacks. The sho would have likely left him somewhat disoriented, especially if he did fall down that sand dune. Yasushi might just have a chance to land several Tranquil Blows on him at once and end this fight before too much blood was shed.

Ability Name:
Last Minute Save: When an object or person gets within arm’s reach of Yasushi, its movement speed is perceived by Yasushi at a rate that is 25% of the true speed.

Tranquil Blows v1 [Passive]: Whenever Yasushi comes in contact with another, even be it via their weapons, will have their speed reduced. Every strike that a person comes in contact with Yasushi’s blade, their speed will be reduced by 5%. This last for two posts. If they get hit within this time it will refresh the duration. This caps out at 25% total.
Slowed Perspective v1 [Passive]: Yasushi’s Last-Minute Save is further increased and expanded with this release. Now, instead of an arms-length distance, it is now a 5-meter radius and the speed on incoming attacks is further reduced to 50% their normal speed. This is in terms of how fast they appear to Yasushi, they do not actually reduce their speed as a whole with just this skill alone. It just further increases his chance to dodge or block.

Spell Name: Shō

Alabaster fell backwards as he felt a jab on his chest which knocked him off the dune. Annoying, sure, but it didn't hurt. "Hehehe..." Alabaster chuckled quietly as he oriented himself mid-air. The Shinigami was following after him, and getting closer. Perfect. Clenching his free hand into a fist while falling, Alabaster would wait until the man was about 20 feet away from him before skidding to a stop with an air-walk just above the incline of the dune and would immediately afterwards perform an incredibly short Sonido to shoulder-charge into the dune. With all his current speed and immense strength behind his shoulder-slam into the sand, Alabaster would create a massive explosion of sand that filled the air (and Yasushi's vision) making it harder to see with all the sand flying about.

Alabaster would then fire off two more of his spines up towards the Shinigami, letting him deal with that quick poke of his own before burrowing into the remnants of the destroyed dune while using the falling sand as cover. Would the Shinigami flee, or take the bait? Alabaster couldn't wait to find out.

S
urely this man was not going to be sent flying like a rag doll by just a simple Sho?

He was closing in on the man when hollow abruptly stopped his tumble and instead dashed towards a nearby sand dune. Yasushi, wary of the man’s strategy and potential follow-up. Instantly went upward into the sky, to a point where he was out of the cloud of sand. It was a lucky move on his part as from the spike in spiritual pressure and the following sounds, it seemed as if the hollow had struck out at where he once was. Up in the sky above the sand cloud, the boy was nowhere to be seen. Without waiting any time, Yasushi brought his hand forward and spoke a new spell’s name.

“Kyokkō.”

Instantly, a light enveloped him, masking him completely in visual and spiritual means. He could not see the hollow so he only thought it was smart to make it where the hollow could not see him. He moved carefully over to the location that the boy originally stood when he first met him. A bit of a distance from the cloud of sand but close enough to formulate any counters he might need to utilize. He hoped that if he laid low for a bit, the hollow would show themselves and Yasushi might be able to get them in some sort of bind.

After about a minute of waiting, Alabaster began to grow annoyed. Where was this guy? He didn't seem to have just left. However, Alabaster couldn't sense him either. "Tch, boooooring!" As the cloud of sand began to disperse, Alabaster popped out of his hiding spot, pouting in that fashion that children do when they don't get their way, Zanpakuto in hand. "Kill them slowly, Veintiuna Muertos." In a burst of power, Alabaster's body morphed and changed. As the dust finished fully clearing, his body was now covered in sickly-white and slimy looking tentacles, two of which appeared to replace his arms. "I don't like playing hide-and-seek, you know!"

T
here it was. His resurrection.

Yasushi was still waiting in the distance, watching the boy’s transformation into that of a starfish-like looking being. With odd tentacle appendages dispersed throughout his body. Having those extra limbs would make combating him tricky, but it would also mean there were more chances for Yasushi to utilize his sword’s abilities. If he played it smart.

Yasushi, maneuvered to the man’s backside. Keeping a decent distance, roughly 15 meters or so and of course with the kidou spell up, making himself still hidden from the boy's body. He had to formulate a decent course of action. That’s when it came to him. He moved towards the boy and shattered the kidou as he would come within roughly 7 meters or so from the boy. The moment he had stepped out of the kidou, a ripple of his reiatsu completely submerged the area around him in his tranquility ability. Slowing all things inside by 25% than what they currently were moving. Seeing how the boy had already been touched once by his tranquil blow, Yasushi felt safe moving into a melee brawl with the starfish.

He would aim his first swing towards one of the new appendages that had sprouted. With his open hand, he extended his middle and index finger towards the boy. He would think that the kid might believe that he would use Sho again as it was a similar stance and he had just used it. While he was unaware of any movements the starfish boy might make, he did know that it would be beneficial to bind his two primary arms for the time being.

“Bakudo #61, Rikujōkōrō”

Unless the monster had some sort of defense for such an ability, they would find that they were surrounded by 6 rods of light that would have rendered those extra appendages useless. Would this end the fight here and now? Or would the boy have more tricks up his tentacles? Yasushi for the most part had not spent much of his energy reserves, most of which was done by placing this bakudo. On the other hand, that boy had been romping around firing blasts off willy-nilly. Surely he was going to start to tucker out sooner or later? Especially if he was going to break those restraints.
