Kanna had been a member of Squad 2 for, well, not very long. However, she had worked her way up to 5th seat, so there was definitely progress. Still, she wasn’t necessarily the most approachable or friendly face in the division. In fact, she was more so known for keeping to herself and doing exactly as she was told. She got up, got dressed, and put up her long, black hair for the day. Kanna wasn’t one to make a fuss or a scene, so when she was given her next assignment, she could only say ”Yes, sir.” She continued about her day making sure everything was ready for their newest arrival. Then, she would spend the rest of the morning waiting on the rooftop of the barracks for them to arrive. Overall, it was her easiest assignment yet. Although, she would much rather be sneaking about and not drawing attention to herself. All she could do now was wait.

Today was the official day Foruth seat Shojun was finally going to meet the rest of the squad members that he had worked so hard to gain the notice finally paid off but it wouldn't be enough to fully satisfy him. After what was only supposed to take two minutes managed to last most of the morning but were finally ready to attend their celebration for moving up the chain. "I hope i didn't keep them waiting too long?" he asked himself jumping from the rooftop of the third barracks until finally reaching the second barracks, with Zanpakuto in hand he landed just short of the entrance and let out a small sigh of relief as even though gaining the notice of the higher-ups was nice the thought of interacting with them would prove to be the real challenge.

Shojun clutched their sword like a child holding onto their favorite toy that was trying to be taken from them as they played with a strand of hair just before walking through the gate hoping for the big welcome that they had planned so thoroughly in their head.

Kanna had been waiting on her rooftop, looking out over the Gotei, when she spotted the silhouette of an individual at a similar height around Squad 3. Well, it could be them or it could be someone else. No matter. Kanna would descend from the rooftop rapidly to wait just inside the gate to the Squad 2 barracks. She would adjust her zanpakuto while rocking back and forth on her feet. She was nervous. It wasn’t every day that she went out of her comfort zone to greet new members, especially ones higher on the totem pole than her. Honestly, she didn’t really like talking to anyone. She was the equivalent of an assassin. She thrived in the shadows and hid from the world. She was skilled and had only ever worked on improving those skills. Still, Kanna was left with orders to do whatever her Captain decided she should be doing with her time. If he wanted her to make friends, well she would just have to try. Hopefully, he didn’t mind if she was awkward or not.

When the newest member rounded the gate, Kanna would bow to her superior, ”Greetings, you must be the new 4th Seat, Shojun Fenikkusu. My name is Kanna Ito, 5th Seat. It’s a pleasure to meet you. The squad is a bit busy today, so I hope you don’t mind the lack of welcome. I’ll do my best to show you around!” At least, she knew her manners and was loyal enough to want to do her job well. She would show him around every nook and cranny of this place, if he so wanted. She had made sure everything was perfectly in place before even thinking about greeting him. She was determined and she was also still bowing. It seemed she wasn’t willing to move until he told her otherwise. Robot much?

Sho was rather surprised to see who was greeting him but it was a bit odd to see the fifth seat greeting them, the woman that stood before him seemed like the reserved type from the way the introductions had started. Going purely off of impulse he placed his hand on her head and held it there for a moment Wow this is awkward he thought quickly pulling back his hand. Kanna didn't seem all that scary up close in fact she looked more like a life-sized doll than anything. "Sho or Jun, not the full thing Miss Kanna, I can call you Kanna right?" Even though she had already finished introducing herself the fifth seat was still bowing which was odd but maybe she was waiting for him to return the bow with one of his own No way! Miss Kanna is that type of person!? he quickly bowed and nearly falling to the ground in the process.

After regaining his balance Shojun walked around Kanna trying not to make himself seem like a bumbling fool "Ummm Miss Kanna you could we ya know get on with the tour?" part of him wondered if all of the second division was like her or if she was just that one oddball in the group, this would go hand in hand with him being the goofball but given that was their first interaction who could say how she acts once they become closer. Sho had really looked forward to a party of some kind but if everyone else was dealing with assignments then it couldn't be helped. A small part of them had died ever so slightly but that wasn't going to stop them from making a good first impression.

Well, the new Fourth Seat seemed interesting enough, especially when he placed his hand on Kanna's head and didn't move it. Was this the type of person he was?! So informal and personal?! She couldn't handle it. It was rare that anyone ever placed a hand on her, but he was certainly able to get away with it due to the sheer confusion of the situation. As he introduced himself and even asked if he could call her by name, the woman would stand up straight with a very prominent light blush on her features. It seemed they were both incredibly awkward. "Y-Yes, of course, Sho," she would respond before nearly watching him face plant the ground. On instinct, she would reach out just to make sure he didn't fall, but she would never actually touch him. A relieved sigh would escape her before she would crack the slightest sliver of a smile. Yeah, he was a good person.

"Oh, right! The tour. Uhm, right this way," Kanna would gesture leading the way through the barracks doors. They would enter into a long hallway with rooms immediately present on both sides, "these rooms here are mainly for the unseated members. Should need arise, they'll need to be out quickly.". They were smaller, but were still livable. As they walked further down the hall, it would open up into a large grassy, garden area, which was set up with training dummies and room to spar. "And right here you can catch up on training. If you're going to train releases though, just... try not to damage the building. Or find a bigger, more open place to train them. You'll find more people here in the morning or nearer to the end of the day. Usually, everyone is busy and the Captain doesn't really like slackers. I wouldn't get on his bad side..." As she said this, she seemed to shutter at the thought. Was he really that bad? Yes. He was a dick.

"See Miss Kanna that wasn't so hard!" Once someone has confirmed to call him by his nickname they become instant friends which means any formalities that would be followed are tossed into the waste bin I didn't think she do it so easily given how she remained bowed even after introducing herself the simple shortening of a name would have taken at least five or even six more ties to. Kanna's doll-like nature was still very much present though from what Shojun could see that was probably a mask that she wear's to keep others at a distance, this was something that he could relate to on a certain level.

The sleeping quarters didn't really matter to him as he could sleep in a mop closet and be fine though he did question if the other seated members had their own rooms or if they just shared one as well but such questions didn't really seem right to ask as this was still the making of a first impression after all. As the two made their way to the training area an idea popped into his mind "Oh cool why don't we have a go sometime I'm sure I could learn a thing or two from ya?" even though he was a seat above her part of him felt as though she was holding back. When she mentioned the captain something seemed to bug her or at least bother her to some extent which raised the question of if the two were close or had some type of history, "Sorry for the question assault Miss Kanna but is cap'n one of those?" by this Shojun was referring to Ika being a training is everything type of person.
