#1Specialization Draft [For Izuna] Empty Specialization Draft [For Izuna] Sat Apr 16, 2016 9:10 pm

Here's what I have, very briefly.

The system is based on tiers and specialization points. Tier 5 gets 0 points, Tier 4 gets 1 point, Tier 3 gets 2 points, Tier 3 gets 3 points, Tier 2 gets 4 points and Tier 1 gets 5 points. This should be really simple.

There is four levels on the specializations. Novice, is the stage, where every character stands at in each specialization by default, and it requires no specialization points. Expert is the stage, where your proficient in it and you get a minor bonus - you need to spend one specialization point to access this. Master is the stage, where you have perfected your study of the skill and you get a major bonus - you need to spend one additional specialization point to access this stage, and you must have the Expert level on it before you can get here. Grandmaster is the final stage, where you are the best of the best in your art, and you get a huge advantage towards others with this - you will need to spend a third specialization point to access this stage, and it requires you to be around Tier 2 and have a Master of the said skill.

Now to the different types of specializations. I am thinking the following; Hakuda, Kido (for shinigami), Cero (for arrancar), Reishi (???) (for quincy), High-Speed Movement, Zanjutsu/Swordmanship (encompasses all weaponry skills, not just swords), Reikaku (sensing others, seeing through falsities), Ingenuity (developing new items - this should not have the fourth stage, grandmaster), High-Speed Regeneration (? for arrancars) etc. Add whatever you think could fit.

The effects of a specialization CANNOT alter (F)AR. The effect of having a specialization should be something else, ie. more technique slots in a specific skill, access to Gran Rey Cero, ability to develop items without cooldown or training, whatever you can come up with.

Not done but feedback is appreciated. A ask for people to shoot me suggestions for the missing skills/specialties for races. They are defined by the "????". If you can throw me suggestions I would appreciate it a lot. Also some things are still WIP with the information dedicated to each skill.

Specialisation System

Introduction:
Hopefully, you've already familiarized yourself with our tier and advantage rating systems, which will help you to deduce the difference of power between you and your opponent. Now, we will introduce you to another system entirely - the Specialization and Skill system. It is an essential factor of our in-game mechanics, but the most important thing you need to know is that it has nothing to do with F/AR system. In other words, specializations do not offer power boosts to your character, nor does a higher skill grant you a concrete advantage over your opponent. Instead, the system gives a multitude of perks, that might or might not directly influence your odds of winning a fight. We've attempted to make this as simple as possible, but if there is something you want to ask about, do feel free to PM staff.

How It Works:

Levels of Skill
To make it as easy to understand as possible, there is only four levels of skill, which will determine the benefits you are going to get.
Basic - This is the level, that everyone stands on by default. It's not the weakest of the levels of expertise - our system simply doesn't work that way at all - but the average of what people around your level of power can do. You do not receive any perks, but it doesn't make you less formidable combatant, when compared to someone with a greater level of skill.
Expert - This is the level, where a character is above the average in whatever skill it is, that they specialize in. To get here, you will need to spend one skill point in exchange of an expertise on a specific specialization - this means, that you will get some minor perks, but nothing too fancy.
Master - This is the level, where a character has successfully master the skill, that they have chosen to specialize in. To get here, you will need to spend an additional skill point in exchange for the mastery on a specific specialization - with this upgrade, comes a few major perks.
God - A more of a position, that a step on the ladder, the god rank is only accessible to few, and has a few requirements - you need to be above Tier 2-2 and spend an addition skill point on the specific specialization. Along with fame and recognition, you will attain godly perks. Because the position of a god in each skill can be only held by one person at a time, you will have to fight for this, should the rank be currently occupied.

Skill Points
As you can see from the above, there is skill points, that you swap with a level of expertise in a specialization - they are limited in number to prevent one from making a master-of-all-trades characters, so chose very carefully. Who decides how many skill points are you going to get, then? The number of points, that you get, is directly tied to the tier, that your character stands on. See the number of skill points per tier by yourself from the list below.

Tier 5 - 1 points.
Tier 4 - 2 points.
Tier 3 - 3 points.
Tier 2 - 4 points.
Tier 1 - 5 points.

Specializations:

Universal Skills
These are the skills, that are available for all species - universal, so to speak - and pretty much the general skills shown in the series.

Weapon Skill - Known formally as Zanjutsu among the shinigami, the Weapon Skill applies to practically any choice of weapon, that your character possesses - be it a katana of a shinigami, bow of a quincy or something else entirely. When it comes to God-rank, you will be listed as the god of whatever weapon you possess - this way, Weapon Skill allows multiple gods to co-exist simultaneously. See the perks of each level of skill below;

Expert:
— 1 free technique slot for a weapon technique.
— Halved word count for training weapon techniques.

Master:
— 3 free technique slots for weapon techniques.
— Halved pages for training weapon techniques.

God:
— 1 free ability slot for a weapon ability.
— 5 free technique slots for weapon techniques.
— Halved cooldown for training weapon techniques.

Hand-to-Hand - To Shinigami this is known as Hakuda, however to the rest of the world it can be described as Hand-to-Hand combat. It is similar in the way of Weapon Skill since it allows multiple people to co-exist as gods of a certain fighting style be it Kung Fu. Karate, Tae Kwon Do etc. This will mean that you'll be listed as a god of whatever style you choose. See the perks of each level of skill below;
Expert:
— 1 free technique slot for a unarmed technique.
— Halved word count for training unarmed techniques.

Master:
— 3 free technique slots for unarmed techniques.
— Halved pages for training unarmed techniques.

God:
— 1 free ability slot for a unarmed ability.
— 5 free technique slots for unarmed techniques.
— Halved cooldown for training unarmed techniques.

Ingenuity - This is a universal skill and one where there can be only one god, it is basically the level of which your character can create and develop things be it weapons, items and inventions etc. It's perks mainly relate to the benefits of items that you can create. See the perks of each level of skill below;
Expert:
— Halved word count for obtaining items you made.

— Halved pages for obtaining items you made.
— Halved cooldown for obtaining items you made.

— Halved cost for items you purchase.

How about we give one skill point with a tier up? Right now the skills you can reach are awfully limited, and how do you get more skill points.

Do the levels like Master & God get the benefits of the lower levels ie God gets the benefits of Expert and Master on top of God benefits?

If we give one skill point with a tier up, we will have characters who are grandmasters in five different skills - and we don't want that. Five is a number I picked, based on that a character has to spend 3 skill points to get to a grandmaster/god level - they can reach the top with a single skill, but not two. Keep in mind, that the specialization system exists to give out benefits and perks to characters, rather than giving them boosts or advantages - it doesn't directly influence battle and thus, acts as a supportive addition to the systems. It's not supposed to be an indicator of your character's skills, as it is not - it's indicator of what your character specializes in most primarily.

And yes, God rank will get the benefits of previous tiers, as one must first attain Expert and Master rank, before they access the final stage.

Is this enough to give you direction, or will I continue to work on this later today?
